Joyride
One of the biggest riddims of late and a taster of the ragga update thatI've promised but never seems to be a reality. Sorry about that, I reallywould like to put a ragga section together, but it isdifficult to find the time. At least I'll try to put my favourites onthe site, in this is certainly one. Production by Dave Kelly who is responsible for many of the biggest riddims the latest 2 - 3 years.Prime cut's on this one are Lady Saw's Sycamore Tree and Wayne Wonder'sBashment Girl. This is Wonder's cut, one of his best ever. Every once ina while he releases a killer tune, just to give a glimpse of his ability it seems. Next tune you hear is another soul cover. He obviously has a lot of talent. If he decided to spend some more timeon his lyrics and try to produce something a little more worthwhile instead of just another dancehall tune he could go very far.This was riddim of the year in -97 according to the JAMRID AWARD:s jury (me).
