Red Alert
After posting this years roundup I got this from Lars Youknowwho.

Who can resist such flattering words? Not me. So here is Red Alert.
This is South Rakkas Crew second riddim, the first one being the magnificent Clappas. Certainly both very intersting and inventive riddims. Although perhaps Red Alert wasn't as unique as Clappas it still deserves a plce in JAMRID.
If you like these two riddims you are in for a treat, because SRC new riddim, called Bionic Ras, is another killer! Watch out for that!!!
All these riddims, especially Bionic Ras, has a distinct techno feel to them... perhaps that's what is going to be the next big thing in the dance. I was surprised that the Jamaicans never picked up on jungle and techno (Junior Reid, of all people, is tha tonly one to my knowledge that released a JA produced jungle track), but perhaps it's time for Yard to give their version of this sound. As I mentioned before there are also a number of other riddims this year that points in this direction, with a very grime-ish sound. Allthough certainly it is not a coincidence, SRC is Miami based and this type of electro sounds has a stong traditions in SE US.
