Hard Times As I said, traditional riddims were big this year, most notably with Drop Leaf of course, but Hard Times and I Swear was not far behind. Others, but perhaps not as popular, was Mineral, Gideon and Shanty Town This is Luci riding Hard Times with a ting call Silver And Gold. Luci had a decent year, featured on most of the one drops. He’s releasing quite a lot of albums these days, but unfortunately non of them are consistent enough to really make an impact. On the other hand each of them have their share of good tunes. Production is interesting as the producer, Stephen Gibbs, is son of Joe Gibbs, once producer of classic Burning Spear material. A riddim in the vein of his father indeed.
